Our Mission
To provide high-quality and compassionate medical care through a traditional internal medicine setting.
Our practice was established in 1994, based on the traditional practice model of old-style internal medicine. There have been many changes since then and practice models have needed to change to accommodate newer trends in the practice of medicine. New innovations and technological advances such as the introduction of electronic medical records have facilitated the obtaining of patient information but at the same time have limited the amount of time we can spend with our patients. While we have needed to incorporate those advances into our own practice in order to remain relevant and have all the necessary resources available in order to treat our patients , we have remained and will continue to remain grounded on our #1 responsibility which is to devote time to our patients and their needs and to provide quality services.
We respect our patients and the trust they have placed on us for 20 years and will continue to maintain the highest standards in the practice of internal medicine. Despite the trends and the changes and challenges facing the practice of medicine we will continue to strive to provide the quality healthcare that our patients deserve.
We are focused on prevention of illnesses and on the maintenance of good overall health. We understand the importance of exercise and the need to avoid hazardous habits in order to achieve a good long healthy life. We follow closely the recommendations of the American College of Physicians, who have awarded Dr. Cintron a Fellowship for her years of practice and commitment to the specialty of lnternal Medicine.
We continue to introduce additional services for our patients and also incorporate technological support so that patients can have access to their electronic health information. We encourage electronic interaction yet maintaining the standards of care regarding this practice and protecting patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
It has always been an honor and a distinct pleasure to serve my patients and we will continue to fulfill the goals that were set forth when we pledged the Hippocrates oath.
In February 2016, the NCQA awarded this practice the recognition of Patient Centered Medical Home, Level 2 (valid until 2019), making this practice one of only a few Internal Medicine practices in the Oviedo area to receive this meaningful award. Thus, the practice of Zulma Cintron, M.D., is recognized at a national level for patient outcomes and maintaining standards of care.
